Why, you may wonder, as to why I am blogging on a Thursday morning in a school term. That is because those nasty little buggering viruses have decided to rampage my poor respiratory tract. And there you have it: throat inflammation. The really awful one, where you can't swallow anything without feeling immense pain. Yeah, it woke me up at 5 sth in the morning, before my alarm clock even rang. So yes, I paid a little visit to the doctor earlier this morning.

And I am absolutely going to die for missing out on those lectures and tutorials today. Somebody just kill me now. *Bang*

And to think I even messaged Mr. Yeow this morning to ask if I could go to school just for the Biology SPA Trial. And guess what? He said "No", and then told me not to worry about the practical and to take care. But I don't wanna do a make-up session... *whines*

Good gracious, I sound like a horrific mugger. Which I am not, by the way.

Oh, the doctor gave me anti-biotics. My dear friends who know me really well would know that I rarely complete the entire course of anti-biotics. You see, I have a severe case of short term memory and once I get better, I tend to forget that I've still got medication to finish. BUT after learning about Darwinism, Natural Selection and all that mutations, I've decided that I must at least strive to complete this course of anti-biotics. Just the mere thought of those nasty little buggers mutating and acquiring resistance... *shudders*

And I'd be off for my much needed R&R (rest & recuperation). Au revoir :)

Gosh, it was certainly SO worth purchasing Celeste Bradley's novel during the BOOK Warehouse Sale the other day. It was sooo humourous and delectable that it was all I could do to fight to contain my rapidly increasing foolish grin on the train while reading the book. I must certainly have appeared most amusing to the other commuters on the train with that whole myriad of expressions crossing my face. And needless to say, how embarrassing too. Haha.

Chamberesque was interesting yesterday. We finally got down to some practising. Hymne a l'mour is SO nice la. And listening to Seb's part in Passera made me feel as if I'd melted and fused with those lovely wooden grains of my parquet flooring. *smiles dreamily*

And suddenly everyone decided it was fun to pang seh me today. One by one, a total of four sms-es flooded in holding similiar messages of "I'm sorry I can't make it today". Damn good sia. Okay la, I'm not upset anymore.

We celebrated Karen's birthday today with a lovely Tiramisu cake. It was a rather amusing scene actually. We all met up, the 4R-ians, at Tampines MRT Station, where we purchased the tiramisu cake. Then we trooped over to Karen's house, and 'set-up' the cake at the void deck. Then we crept steathily up the stairs (she resides in the 2nd storey). It was darn funny. Can you just picture it? A group of 11 people creeping around like that, with the person in the lead holding a box containing a cake. HAHAHA.

After the celebration, Qwich left to jam, Shi Yun went to tapao food and Si Hui went off to tutor. Marc and I went to the library cos he wanted to grab some books. After which we went to Starbucks where I proceeded to tackle my Integration homework and bombard Marc with those questions I couldn't do. Haha, which is by no means little.

I drank like a HUGE cup of Chocolate Frappucino, koped some of Marc's salad pasta. Wait, not koped, he offered anyway. Hahaha. Gosh, it's been my most relaxing and enjoyable day for a long time yet. Thanks ah Marc. For all that crap and interesting talk. Haha :)

Gosh, this post is so full of Singlish. Hahaha. But who cares anyway?

The Odd Surprises of Life...

Last night I was on my way home from Temasek Poly's CO Concert. It was great to see my friends, section mates and juniors again! I miss the familiar camaraderie amongst us. So I was on my way home when I decided to drop by Macs and pick up an extremely late dinner. It was about 10.35pm. So I was walking from Pasir Ris MRT Station to Macs at WhiteSands when 3 men were heading my direction. Then the guy in the middle looked at me, smiled and then said "Hello! You're so sweet..!"

The first thing that zipped through my mind was "What the hell?".

We were walking past each other and it was a little too fast for me to respond to that. So I turned around and so did he! He was still looking at me and I was giving him that WEIRD, raised-eyebrow look. After a small distance away, I don't know what in the bloody blazes possessed me to say ..."thank you". HAHAHA!! I think I'm insane. I doubt he heard it though. I was still in shock when I was ordering my take-out at the counter. Haha.

Today as I left the LT (lecture theatre) after an Econs lecture, I was thinking to myself how I was dreading the impending PE lesson. So I was walking down the hall linkway towards the sports gallery. And there was this whole hoarde of J1 students going from the hall to the LT. So I was squashed a little unceremoniously to the side and being jostled around in the crowd. And then... I fell into the small longkang at the side of the linkway. -.-

And then I sprained my ankle.

How. Absolutely. Mortifying!!

And my ankle is swollen now. So my mum taped a mini ice pack to it. Literally. With masking tape. Cos I simply couldn't be bothered to hold the ice pack in place with my hands. Haha.

So school has officially started for me today. Orientation last week was a blast! And my voice sounds oddly hoarse now, I can't even sing properly. *croaks*

Honestly, JC2 tutors are like terrorists to me man. I attend my tutorials and lectures in fear and trepidation. It's like a bomb will go off any second and BOOM your name gets called and your heart thumps wildly and frenzily in your chest and when thoughts have taken leave of your mind, you find yourself unable to produce an answer within the next few seconds and bomb shells start falling down upon you in the form of chastisity in varying degrees. Suffice to say, I nearly died in Chem and Math tutorial today. The way tutorials were went over was like a whirlwind blowing through the classroom. I barely had time to get my bearings.

Over the weekend, I had so much homework dumped on me it looked as if Mt. Fuji sat on me. After I managed to dig myself half out by mugging at the National Library with Doris on Sunday for 5 hours, I was, to my utter dismay, presented with MORE homework today, with very pressing deadlines.

And I thought JC1 was bad.

Apparantly I was proven very wrong.

No more slacking, no more slip-shod work, no more playing. First week of school only and I find myself mugging away at the library. What an awesome way to start the year -.-

And oh yes, I got elected as my class's Chairperson. All thanks to dear Chrissy for putting my name on the board along with the other nominees. =.= Dongs. Like, what in the world? It's been a long time since I'd last ran a class leadership post like this. I'm filled with doubts. What if I can't live up to expectations? I'm afraid.

I'm totally drained now. The first thing I did when I got home was to do my Math tutorial. Unbelieveable. Finally after like 3 gruelling hours, I completed the whole darn thing, save for one question, which I was unable to solve. Then I managed to squeeze in 20 minutes of violin practice. Pathetic, I know. But my fingers were hurting already. I was so stressed I'd gripped my bow rather tightly.

And speaking of violins, Mr. Conrad actually flashed a photograph of the violin performance at Ms. Yong's wedding in GP tutorial!! Oh my goodness, how mortifying. Albeit there was a little comfort in the fact that I looked quite nice in the photo with my darling Amber... *ego ego* Hahaha! All right, and now I shall be off to do my other tutorials and what not. Ugh.

Pleasantly Pleased...

Ah, it is, alas, the last day of my holidays, which has more often than not been dubbed as the "Homework chionging Day". Guilty of the very thing myself, I certainly do agree, for I was ferociously battling with those annoying chemical formulas and equations myself earlier this afternoon. It left me so irked, that I stormed out of the house in a flurry of bag, clothes and shoes and headed to my only source of comfort and solace: books.

After leaving Pasir Ris Library with the last book of Mary Balogh's Bedwyn Series, I headed straight to the EXPO for the Books Warehouse Sale, devouring the novel I'd just borrowed on my way there. After an hour, I cheerfully strolled out of the exhibition hall with 4 novels. Needless to say, I am awfully pleased (:

But it was of course, a little upsetting to discover that they do not have the books I'd wanted. And at this moment it would be Mary Balogh's sextet of books: the Bedwyn Series. Sigh, I earnestly hope for the occurance of another book sale sometime soon again.

I went back to my house yesterday, the first time in many many weeks. I'd missed my study, my books, my bookshelves, my piano. After some cleaning and dusting, I'd discover something that nearly left my mouth hanging open in astonishment: letters!! Hand-written letters from my friends! And more specifically, a whole bundle of them from Muffin! Those junk letters we'd written to each other when we were in Secondary 1. Hastily opening those envelopes with lots of pictures scrawled on them and stickers pasted everywhere, I re-read those letters again and laughed in merriment at all the things we'd talked about in Sec 1. It really was fairly amusing to read it now that we're much older. Ah, Muffin dear, I eagerly await your next letter. The postman had better not tarry (:

As the New Year is Ushered In..

A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

My my, doesn't time fly? 2006 is gone and 2007 has arrived. Bringing along with it, unfortunately, my A levels. Rawr.

For the first time in my life, I actually did my Countdown outside of home. I was at Downtown East D'Marquee with Hengky, Kenneth, Song Wei and the rest of the guys and it was utter madness. People were spraying fizzy ribbons and foam EVERYWHERE!! I was ducking and swerving and hiding from all that mess of stuff. Goodness, it was so crowded and noisy. The place was a bedlam!

We gathered around, dumped our bags on the grass and counted down. Then all hell broke loose and everyone went insane. Music blared loudly through the speakers and everybody was screaming and jumping and dancing. What a wild night!

Thank goodness my dad picked me up by 1am. He was on his way home from drinking coffee with a friend. Phew. Well, it is 2.25am, I gather I ought to retire to bed soon! Good night everyone! And have a pleasant year ahead!
